Neon, the Swiss digital banking pioneer, has unveiled a revised product lineup that will launch on May 13, 2025. The new structure expands from their current offerings to provide more choice and flexibility for their growing user base of over 237,000 customers.
What's Changing?
Neon is introducing a four-tiered plan structure while maintaining their commitment to transparency and digital-first banking:
- neon free: The digital everyday account for full independence (0 CHF/month)
- neon plus: The smart account with extra accessibility (2 CHF/month or 20 CHF/year)
- neon global: The boundless account with extra protection online & on the go (8 CHF/month or 80 CHF/year)
- neon metal: The exclusive account for a carefree lifestyle (15 CHF/month or 150 CHF/year)
Additionally, Neon will offer two extensions that can be combined with any plan:
- neon green: Tree planting made accessible to everyone (3 CHF/month)
- neon duo: The joint account for all duos under one roof (3 CHF/month/person)
Plan Details
neon free (0 CHF/month)
The basic plan remains commitment-free with no monthly fees. It includes:
- Payment services including eBill and QR bills
- Spaces for organizing finances
- neon invest with the same low-fee structure
- Email support and 24/7 card emergency support
- ATM withdrawals in Switzerland for 2.50 CHF each
- ATM withdrawals abroad at 1.5% of the amount
- Card payments abroad with a 0.35% exchange rate surcharge
neon plus (2 CHF/month or 20 CHF/year)
This new tier adds several benefits:
- Phone support from customer care
- Warranty extension on electronic devices purchased with the neon card
- No exchange rate surcharge for worldwide card use
- 2 free ATM withdrawals in Switzerland per month
- Lower ATM withdrawal fee abroad (1.0%)
- New glossy red Debit Mastercard made of recycled plastic
neon global (8 CHF/month or 80 CHF/year)
The global plan is designed for travelers and online shoppers:
- All features of neon free and neon plus
- 3 free monthly ATM withdrawals in Switzerland
- Only 0.5% fee on ATM withdrawals abroad
- 20% cashback on international money transfer fees via Wise
- Travel insurance coverage
- Shopping and cyber insurance
- New blackberry Debit Mastercard made of recycled plastic

The premium tier maintains its current price while adding new benefits:
- All features of previous plans
- All insurance packages activated immediately (warranty extension, ticket insurance, best price guarantee, travel insurance, shopping insurance, cyber insurance, phone protection)
- 5 free ATM withdrawals per month in Switzerland
- 0% ATM withdrawal fees abroad
- 40% cashback on international money transfer fees via Wise
- Option to apply all neon metal benefits to neon duo transactions
Extensions
neon green (3 CHF/month)
Now available as an extension to any plan:
- Plant one tree for every 500 CHF spent with the neon card
- Option to order neon green plastic card or unique wooden card
- Current neon green users will be automatically migrated to neon plus + neon green extension
neon duo (3 CHF/month/person)
The digital joint account now applies the features of the user's personal neon plan to their duo account.

What's Next?
Existing users don't need to take any action now. Neon will send reminders before the changes take effect beginning May 13, 2025. New users will gain access to the new plans and extensions one to two days after opening their account during the transition period from May 13 to June 2025.
